2 questions on Vista Ultimate upgrade over XP Pro Sp/2
I have bought the upgrade and the anytime upgrade disc. I am having problems with the upgrade. I have tried twice to do it, the second time was after speaking to microsoft direct services helpdesk. I was walked through the first part of the installation, inserting the disc and to the gathering information stage.

To change from 32bit to 64bit, or 64bit to 32 bit, it has to be a clean install with full OS, not upgrade.. In other words, boot from CD/DVD drive, delete partition, formatt, install. Where did you find the info on the Power Supply? As many times as I get on the HP site, I haven't seen this spec. You are right about the d4999t's having expansion I have questioned Microsoft directly to see if I can upgrade to Ultimate 32-bit through them, but hate to upgrade a brand new computer.

All I could find was info related to server 2003 and Xp... The install will know you are doing an anytime upgrade and will now install Vista Ultimate. If you don't know where your "license" for the upgrade is, then. Your digital locker stores your product keys and purchase information which, when used together, allow you to reinstall your upgrade if necessary.

I totally appreciated Marc`s extensive input and info but I had previously searched the site that he had recommended a few days before my post and it only stated that both 32-bit and 64-bit media were included in the Ultimate edition. There wasn`t ANY reference to the Upgrade, however.
